Chàng. Sorry for the lack of COTDs lately. I’ve been falling asleep before I end up getting it done the past couple days. Anyway, our character today can be translated as to sing or to call (by birds). Here are some combinations that involve it.

唱段 – chàngduàn means aria
唱机 – chàngjī means gramophone or record player
唱片 – chàngpiàn means record or disc (musical)
唱戏 – chàngxì means to act in an opera
歌唱 – gēchàng means to sing
合唱 – héchàng means to sing in chorus
唱歌 – chànggē means to sing
